Jobby.ai
A career platform for students and recent graduates: job and internship search, mentor access, interview preparation and employer tools, connecting young professionals with companies and communities.
Context
Students and recent graduates needed one place to search jobs and internships, get matched by interest and experience, and reach mentors and peer communities - instead of piecing it together across job boards, cold outreach and separate mentorship platforms.
The catalogue ran to 50,000+ vacancies from 10,000 companies, more than Bubble's own database handles well, so search and filtering had to live outside it: an external MySQL database plus Elasticsearch, wired into Bubble through the API.
Role & scope
What I owned
Backend and front end on Bubble.io, the external MySQL database, Elasticsearch integration for search and filtering, and 20+ API connections including job boards and email marketing for students and companies.
Who else was involved
A cross-functional team: 5 developers, QA, designer, PM, analyst and DevOps.
How long it ran
September 2022 to November 2024.
Process
01 · Search across 50,000+ vacancies
Built the job search: filters by city, category, employment type and more over a catalogue of 50,000+ vacancies from 10,000 companies, backed by Elasticsearch so results stay fast as the catalogue grows.
02 · A guided profile builder instead of a blank resume
Instead of a blank form, built an interactive step-by-step profile builder: a student answers a short set of questions and the platform assembles the resume that employers see.
